Charles Darwin was
naturalist. He said than the species in the world evolved from a
common ancestor. This process was the natural selection. Charles
Darwin borned in Shrewsburry, England on Februar 12, 1809 and he died
in 19 of April, 1882. His family were unitarian and anglicanism. He
married with Emma Wedgwood. He was 10 children ( William Erasmus,
Anne Elizabeth, Mary Eleanor, Henrietta Emma, George Howard,
Elizabeth, Francis, Leonard, Horace and Charles Waring). He studied
medicine and surgery in the University of Edimburgo. But he hated
this materials . He learned taxidermy with John Edmonstone. After he
gone to the Christ's College of Cambridge for learned letters. He was
a follower of John Stevens Henslow. Three important books influenced
Charles Darwin. This books were the “Natural Theology” of William
Paley, “A preliminary discourse on the study of natural philosophy”
of John Herschel and “Journey to the Equinoctial Regions of the new
world” of Alexander vom Humboldt. He traveled to Gales, Tenerife.
After this travels he returned to his home. He found one invitation
of Henslow to travel with the HMS Beagle. In the travel of the Beagle
Charles Darwin discovered many different fossils, animals and plants.
He gone to make geological investigations. In Punta Blanca and Bahia
Blanca he discovered fossils of extinct mammals and he discovered two
types of rhea. Charles observed the geographical separation and the
different climates were the reason of the differences between
populations. He was in an earthquake in Chile and he observed levels
of molluscs above the sea-line and tree in the beach. In Galapagos
islands he observed different types of finches and tortoises. The
animals changed according to the islands. In this time Charles Darwin
wrote his daily. He invented the The Origin of the Species. The
Origin of Man is a book of the evolution of the man. The book
published in February, 24
of 1871. This theory late years to created. He wrote books of geology
and evolution. Charles became a celebrity in England for his works in
the travel of the Beagle. He revolutionized the thoughts and theories
with their discoveries in the world.HISTORICAL CONTEXT
During life of Charles Darwin were the french revolution. Between 1750 and 1900 was the industrial revolution. After Napoleon Bonaparte dominated Europe. The courts of Cadiz and the constitution of 1812. The time of liberalism. The first world at war. The vaccine against the rabies. These events didn't affect Charles Darwin. Charles Darwin had any relation to the Olympics.
